CG Series gas coalescing Filters

Many natural gas lines carry along with the gas some amount of liquid water and oil, usually in the form of small droplets, fog, or mist. This is often found at wellheads and downstream of compressor aftercoolers. This liquid can destroy meters, regulators, and other equipment. FSI Manufacturing has designed its CG-Series Coalescing Gas Filters specifically to remove this contaminant. The filter cartridge in our CG-Series housings creates a gas flow pattern that will "bump" the microscopic droplets together as they pass through the fine pores of the specially designed borosilicate fiberglass media layers. This action forms droplets too large to be carried further downstream. The liquid drips from the cartridge into a holding sump where it waits to be manually or automatically drained away.

CG-Series housings are offered as a 150 psi natural gas filter, a 285 psi natural gas filter, a 740 psi natural gas filter and a 1480 psi natural gas filter. Line connections range from 2" to 12". Consult our engineering department for larger sizes.

Three styles of access closure are available – a quick opening standard swing bolt lid on 180 and 285 psi housings, a blind flange on all housings, and a thread-on hammer union lid on most housings. Heavy lids are equipped with a lifting davit.
